Jesus: The God Solution
There are many problems in the world. Climate change, wars, inequality, and poverty to name the top four.
There are many solutions offered to solve these problems. Marxism says that changing the systems will do it. Liberalism says if we encourage the individual to solve his own problems, then the world will improve. Often people advocate more education.
God offers another solution. He offers Jesus. The Son of God comes into the world as a human. Jesus goes to the heart (!) of the issue by addressing our selfish nature which is able to cook up all sorts of evil. He dies taking the penalty we deserve for this selfish behaviour and washes it away by his blood. He reconciles us to God and so reconciles us with each other. We can now forgive ourselves and other people the selfish acts they do.
Ephesians 1:10 summarizes it this way, when it says, “He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.” (Message Bible).
In other words through Christ God is bringing together everything which has been torn apart by sin. This is why Jesus is God’s solution for the world.
