Church Planting – Where We’ve Been | Church Planting – What’s Next
Hello Immanuel friends,
Although the rain is falling, there is a sense of re-emergence in our community. Praise God that He has guided us through the last round of lockdowns and restrictions and brought us through as a community and city relatively unscathed. As we look to our Heavenly Father to guide us through another season of transition, we also ask Him to be with our community as we make decisions about the leadership and mission of our church.
As a reminder, the Board of Leadership (BoL) Nominations meeting will be held on the 28th November after the first service at 10.00 am. Usually this is a meeting to vote in our nominated BoL members, but we have and additional activity to vote as a congregation on if we wish to continue our support of our Church Planting Lead, Jacob Traeger, for another period of 4 years, in partnership with the ACT/NSW District.
Before this meeting I encourage you all to prayerfully consider some information included in this email. Firstly, attached is a list of available BoL positions – I believe God has blessed us all with different gifts which could be applied in different ways to these roles giving us a dynamic and productive team. Please consider the roles, pray, and listen if the Spirit stirs in you! Our final nominations will be communicated to the congregation one week prior to the meeting.
Secondly, attached is a report of Jacob’s previous 4 years in the church planting space, and an outline for the next 4 years. Please consider this, especially in light of what has been achieved during a pandemic and the opportunities which God has been opening in our community.
Many thanks for your thoughts and prayers on these matters, and I look forward to meeting with you all soon.
Lachlan Mackenzie
