Immanuel’s Mission and Ministry: Discerning the Spirit’s vision for our next decade
The Immanuel Board of Leadership (BoL) invites all members of Immanuel to join an exploration of where the Spirit is inviting us over the next 10 years. Throughout 2026 we’ll be running a vision and planning process about our mission as the household of God (oikos). This process will involve a series of conversations, first to articulate a clear, specific vision statement and then to turn this vision into achievable next steps along the road.
BoL have asked Pastor Jacob to facilitate this process. We’re hoping to have the vision statement finalised around October 2026, with the next steps in place early in 2027.
You can be involved by registering for updates through the form on this page, by checking back here regularly, and answering questions. We encourage everyone to pray about this process (however much or little you’re involved), and prayer resources will soon be available on this page and in hard-copy in the church.
You can respond to the first question below: What single word or single sentence do you think describes what God is calling Immanuel to be as a church in ten years time (2036)? Please only answer once (if you were on church camp you will have been able to do this in person already).
The first in-person half-day workshop will take place on Saturday June 13 from 1pm-4pm in the Immanuel church hall. Anybody who wishes to contribute is welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please contact Victor (chair@immanuellutheran.org.au) or Jacob (jacob.traeger@immanuellutheran.org.au).
