Joining a group is an opportunity to grow in faith and be a blessing to those around you.
Activities
We have opportunities for everyone to be involved in activities or groups throughout the week. There are groups for all ages, interests and life-stages. We hope that you will be blessed by being part of our community and your presence will be a blessing to others.
Please contact us for more information.
Small Groups
During the week, our small groups meet in different times and locations throughout Canberra (both sides of the lake!)
We encourage our small groups to spend time together by sharing over a drink or a meal. The focal point of the bible small groups is the reading and discussing of God’s Word and joining in prayer for each other. We have men and women’s groups as well as mixed groups for people of all ages.
Since the coronavirus pandemic our community have had the added advantage of meeting remotely when needed. At present, the men’s group continues to meet weekly for an early morning Zoom session. Several other bible groups, with participants living interstate or overseas, also meet regularly on Zoom.
Our community also encourages “One to One Bible Reading. Support and training is offered to anyone interested in participating in One to One Bible Reading. We welcome participants to trial 1:1 reading in pairs for a limited period before committing to longer period. Participants have reported that they enjoy the greater flexibility and intimacy of these meetings. Many have stated that they enjoy an increase in confidence in sharing as no previous bible knowledge is required.
Personal growth, pastoral care and a deepening relationship with God occurs within our groups. Group time is spent sharing joys and struggles, studying God's word together and providing encouragement and mutual support.
While we have a major focus on bible study, we also have groups that meet for fellowship or community service. The fun and fellowship Board Games Morning as well as the Art/Craft group meet monthly on Saturday mornings.
If you are interested in joining a small group please contact Helen by email or call 0414 216 523.

Women's Fellowship
The Immanuel Lutheran Women’s Fellowship is a group of women from the congregation who meet monthly. The purpose of the Women's Fellowship is to grow together in the word, in love and service to the local church, the community and to the wider mission of the Lutheran Church of Australia.
Meetings are held in the church hall on the first Tuesday of the month at 10.30am followed by a shared lunch.
For more information about Women's Fellowship activities contact Eunita by email or call (02) 6286 2622.
Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism is where God's presence and the promise of new life comes to us. In Baptism we are adopted as God's children, we're united with Christ's death and resurrection (Romans 6) and brought into community with other believers (Ephesians 4). We practice baptism of both infants and adults and invite all to receive this gift of grace.
If you would like to be baptised, or have a child you wish to be baptised, we'd love to talk with you about it! Please email our office or call (02) 6282 1195.
