With restrictions easing in the ACT, we will be looking to return to in-person worship on Sunday 31st October. You can view the latest update from our Board of Leadership (BoL) here on returning to Worship and gatherings here at Immanuel.
Gathering for Worship
We’ll continue to gather in our homes to worship together via Livestream. The livestream will begin at 10am AEST, and you can access it via Immanuel’s YouTube page or at woden.lutheran.org.au/livestream. There’ll be hymns and songs, an interactive kid’s time, prayers and a message.
Caring for One Another
Please take some time to pray for one another during this time. Especially for those who are feeling isolated or anxious, those who are overwhelmed with caring for children or adapting to changes at work. You might like to write a letter of encouragement: Take some time in your own method to write (say, draw, sing, etc.) some simple words that speak the truth of God’s love to encourage and build up someone else. Allow God’s love to flow through the truthful words you speak.
If you need pastoral support, or just want to talk to someone you’re welcome to contact Pastor Tim (0490 765 061 – not on Fridays) or Jacob (0416 708 470 – not on Wednesdays). Our understanding is that pastoral visits for urgent needs are permitted as ‘essential work.’ Finally, if you or someone you know is not coping with mental health, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (more mental health resources can be found here).
Events at Immanuel
Events which would normally be held at the church or in the hall (such as the Thursday Morning Group) will be allowed to resume from the 18th October. The organisers of these groups (and other small group leaders) will be in touch with regular attenders to let you know if your group plans to gather in person.
The office is now open again – from Monday 18th October. You can still contact the office at office@immanuellutheran.org.au.
May the love of God, which endures through every circumstance, wrap around you and hold you in his presence during this time.
