The COVID-19 pandemic is seriously impacting Australian social life, and communal gatherings such as church worship services. Please pray for all those directly affected, and those experiencing anxiety about the pandemic, that they would know God’s peace and that we may bear God’s peace at this time.
In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Board of Leadership has made the difficult decision to suspend public worship. At this time, we need to consider the vulnerable in our community. We have many people who are older, or in poorer health and who are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill if they contract COVID-19.
This decision hasn’t been taken lightly. But it is taken in the knowledge that God is with us, all the time, and in the knowledge that the church is not a building, and our worship is not limited to Sunday morning.
We will continue to have a shared time of Word and prayer on Sunday mornings. You will be able to access this online through our website at woden.lutheran.org.au/livestream. This website will continue to be updated.
Social distancing and self-isolation make it difficult to maintain connections. We’ve set up a Facebook group where we can all stay connected and support one another. You can join it at https://www.facebook.com/groups/immanuelwodenvalley/. We’re also taking steps to ensure we can maintain good pastoral care of each other during the coming months.
During this time we’ll be putting more resources on our Elvanto members website. If you don’t have a login for Elvanto, you can make one clicking this link.We also encourage you to sign-up for SMS and email updates at https://woden.lutheran.org.au/contact-us/ – this will be the best way to find out about changes to worship times.
If you’re concerned about COVID-19 and would like to talk, please contact Jacob (0416 708 470) or Pastor Dennis (0418 839 051).
